Kaffe Fassett Yarn
Did you know that Kaffe Fasset also designs yarn? It is a chunky yarn by Rowan called Colorscape. Here are some photos of a few of the colorways that I have. I have a plan for this yarn and the yarn you see with it. I'll give it a try and show you photos in a couple of days. I've been busy quilting but am getting the urge to do some crocheting and knitting.

Super Bowl Scarves Project
This is the scarf that I'm working on for the Super Scarves project. The city of Indianapolis is asking volunteers to knit, crochet or weave 8,000 scarves to be given to each volunteer when we host the Superbowl here in Indianapolis in 2012.
You can make any scarf that is non-team specific. Footballs on the scarves are fine. I'm using Cascade 220. The blue is color number 9457 and the white is number 8505.
The pattern for this scarf is one that you can commit to memory after a few times across the rows. It was a free pattern on the inside of a yarn label from another skein of yarn that I bought.Super Seed Scarf
With size 8 needles, cast on 30.
Row 1: Slip the first stitch knitwise, k1, p1, k1, p1...repeat until there are 3 stitches left on the needle. Knit the last three stitches. Turn.
Row 2: Slip the first stitch purlwise, p1, k1, p1, k1, repeat until there are 3 stitches left on the needle. Purl the last three stitches. Turn.
Row 3: Repeat row 1.
Row 4: Repeat row 2.
Row 5: Slip the first stitch knitwise. Knit across. Turn.
Row 6. Slip the first stitch purlwise. Purl across. Turn.
Repeat these 6 rows until the scarf is 76-100 inches long.
I did rows 5 and 6 (the plain knit and purl rows) in white. Rows 1-4 are in blue. I am carrying the white yarn up the side of the scarf so I don't have to cut it after every row and then tie in all of those loose ends.
You can make your scarf in any combination of the blue and white that you wish. Last I heard there have been 2,200 scarves turned in so a lot more volunteers and scarves are needed.
Thanks for visiting. I hope you are finding some time to do a little knitting or crocheting today.

Granny Stripe Blanket
This is a new project that I started a couple of days ago. It is called Granny Stripe Blanket, and I can't take credit for this pattern. It is over on Lucy's blog, Attic 24. This pattern is easy and you can find the link to it over on the left side of her blog. Once you get your base chain done and the first couple of rows, it is easy sailing. I think a repetitive pattern like this is relaxing to do.
I'm using Cascade Superwash yarn, and these are the colors that I plan to use. Then this hexagon is a pattern that I found through Ravelry. I think this would be a good use for the "leftovers". I found a couple of mistakes in the pattern for this the way it was written, and I need to make a couple more of these so I can write instructions on how to join them together. So I'll post that pattern here....and I promise I won't wait another 2 months before I post again.
Hope you are finding some time to crochet or knit today.

Potato Chip Scarf (Knit)
This is another easy knit project. All this requires is a knit stitch. This is my progress so far.

Here is the pattern:
POTATO CHIP SCARF
One ball of Koigu sock yarn. One ball of Kids Silk Haze.
Size 5 double point needles (need two that will be used as two straight needles).
Cast on 20.
Knit across row (20 stitches).
Then you are going to do short rows like this:
Knit 8. Turn, knit 8.
Knit 6. Turn, knit 6.
Knit 4. Turn, knit 4.
(Note: When you are doing the above short rows, be sure after you turn your yarn is in the back. If it isn't you will get another yarn over.
Knit 20. Repeat.
This is the yarn I used. There is one ball of Koigu and one ball of Kids Silk Haze. It is a bit hard to see, but after you knit 3 or 4 inches of the scarf it begins to curl up....like a potato chip.
This pattern was given to me by the girls at Knit Stop. I would love to see a photo of your scarf and/or your yarn choices.

Shell Look Baby Blanket (Crochet)
This is the baby blanket that I've been working on. I'm not sure who this one will go to, but the yarn was in my stash, and I love this pattern.

New Easy Crochet Pattern Blog (with some knitting)
Welcome to my new Easy Crochet Pattern blog. I've been a crocheter for over 40 years and a knitter for not quite 20 years. I love the look of an intricate knit or crocheted project, but what I really love is to find an easy crochet pattern that I can do while I'm visiting in a group, while watching tv, or sitting down at the end of a tiring day. That's doesn't mean that everything I show you on this blog will be squares or rectangles. There are a lot of patterns out there that can be easily comitted to memory after a few passes up and down the rows. Those are the patterns and photos that I'll share with you here. The tabs above will link to patterns that I have used.
I love both crocheting and knitting, but I can crochet much faster than I can knit. I have a sizeable yarn stash, so I'm going to try to crochet and knit my way out. I hope you'll come back often to see my progress and to join me in a project or two.
I'll show you what I've been working on in my next post. Thanks for stopping by. I'll hope you'll come back to visit again soon.
